Drinking water is subject to diverse influences
In terms of water quality there is a multitude of factors that can influence the grade of water purity. Due to environmental and material influences of water production procedures, mains systems and water storage units the quality of drinking water can be severely diminished. Therefore, the examination of such influences is not a simple and routine task dealt with in passing, but requires extensive knowledge of regional and supra-regional influences and their respective magnitudes on water in the catchment area of specific waterworks. Depending on the quality of the untreated water the use of processing plants may be necessary.
Nowadays, modern water extraction and processing plants are the rule rather than the exception. However, the desired high quality standard can only be maintained through continuous professional analyses of water quality which have been determined by independent institutions.
Our service portfolio
We conduct water quality assessments in catchment areas as well as determining potential sources of contamination. If necessary, we will also perform threat assessments and additional procedural steps. The Ruhr District Institute of Hygiene implements examination and evaluation of technical equipment and processes used in the preparation of drinking water. The resources and materials used are also examined. Lastly, we also assess the filter performance of processing plants.
