are the essence of drinking water hygiene

Materials and products in contact with drinking water

Materials used in drinking water production, transfer and storage, as well as unsuitable materials and products in domestic installations can diminish water quality. Only suitable materials meet the requirements.

When we test products intended for the open market, the testing ensures that any influences which could have occurred during processes of production, are included during the final evaluation. In some cases, for instance in organic coating systems or cementitous materials, coated test plates or cement specimens can become the subject of examination.

Our service portfolio

We are your competent partner for conducting hygienic suitability tests of drinking water for non-metallic materials. This includes synthetics of all kinds, rubber and cementitous materials. The following technical policies constitute the basis of our tests.

For organic materials
  • KTW-Guideline of the Federal Environmental Agency (UBA),
  • Coating guideline of the Federal Environmental Agency (UBA),
  • Lubricant guidelines of the Federal Environmental Agency (UBA),
  • DVGW (German Association for Gas and Water) worksheet W 348 (Bitumen)
  • DVGW (German Association for Gas and Water) worksheet W 270
  • KTW-recommendation 1.3.13 (elastomers)

For cementitous materials
  • DVGW (German Association for Gas and Water) worksheet W 347
  • DVGW (German Association for Gas and Water) worksheet W 270 (microbiological film test)

We are a certified testing centre for the DVGW as a „DVGW Water Testing Laboratory”. DVGW-Prüflabor.
